In recent years, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has rapidly advanced, and we’ve gradually integrated it into our daily lives. Beyond standalone AI tools, nearly every application now features its own AI assistant. But which one is smarter? Which one suits you better? In this blog, we compare five leading AI models from the perspective of real-world use, analyzing which performs best under different conditions.
1. Most Popular Assistant: ChatGPT
Launched in November 2022, this tool has remained the most widely used AI assistant worldwide. While users were initially skeptical due to its robotic tone and limited image generation capabilities, it has consistently improved to stay competitive in the market.
Understanding and Response Quality
Compared to other AI tools, ChatGPT provides more human-like responses and can remember your information to build on it in future conversations — a major advantage. It also quickly adapts to your preferred tone (formal, casual, humorous, etc.).
As an example, we asked ChatGPT-4o in Mongolian: “What do Mongolian citizens think about uranium mining in the country? And what is your opinion?”
It responded by clearly summarizing the perspectives of both supporters and opponents in a single sentence each, citing sources and delivering a brief yet well-balanced answer.

This shows that ChatGPT presents both sides without bias, offering clear and concise explanations — which makes the conversation feel more comfortable and easy to follow.
Scope of Knowledge and Updates
To evaluate this area, we focused on three main criteria: whether it has access to the most up-to-date information, its ability to search the web, and which topics it specializes in. Since all three criteria are relevant here, we tested it by asking about “today’s international news.”

It approached international news through a wide lens — covering global affairs, economic development, science, and arts & culture — which suggests it is well-versed in a broad range of topics. Moreover, citing sources under each piece of information added to its credibility.
Unique Features and Additional Capabilities
How strong are its extra functions like image recognition, image generation, coding, or document creation? In the case of ChatGPT, its ability to interpret and generate images has noticeably improved lately. Recently, there was a trend of generating Ghibli-style artwork, which reportedly displeased Hayao Miyazaki. Instead of creating an image, we tested it by asking ChatGPT to draft an official email requesting leave from work — and it handled the task well.

Since it was an official request, I’d say ChatGPT performed the task quite well and met my expectations.
Pricing and Usage Limits
ChatGPT’s free and paid versions differ significantly. With the paid version, users gain access to deep search, allowing it to pull information from multiple sources — a huge advantage. The subscription costs $20 per month. If you're looking to conduct in-depth research, generate images, use the latest updates, and have full conversations with ChatGPT, then the Plus version is the right choice.
ChatGPT’s Biggest Rival: DeepSeek
The Chinese AI startup DeepSeek caused a global stir upon release, immediately topping App Store and Play Store charts and even contributing to a dip in U.S. tech stocks. It rivaled OpenAI’s technology while being far less expensive to develop. DeepSeek's rapid rise impressed potential investors and sent shockwaves through the industry, even lowering Nvidia’s market value by billions. Some American companies began to question their dominance in the AI race. Former U.S. President Donald Trump even described the event as a "wake-up call" for American firms.
Understanding and Response Quality
Currently, DeepSeek is free to use. It also features a 128K context window — meaning it’s better at handling long-form content and large documents. While it occasionally makes minor mistakes when answering in Mongolian, the overall content and meaning remain accurate. An added benefit is that it does not require user registration, which makes it user-friendly and more respectful of user privacy.
To test its ability, we asked DeepSeek the same question as before: “What do Mongolian citizens think about uranium mining in the country? And what is your opinion?”

Although it didn’t cite any sources, the fact that it examined the issue from multiple angles was a clear strength.
Scope of Knowledge and Updates
When asked about today’s international news, DeepSeek did not provide source references and instead categorized the information by continent. This made it feel somewhat lacking in depth and gave the impression that its global knowledge base is still limited.

Unique Features and Additional Capabilities
Unlike ChatGPT, DeepSeek cannot directly generate images. However, when given the same task to write an official email. it not only completed the email sufficiently but also provided extra advice.

Its professional and meticulous approach suggests that DeepSeek is more focused on writing and processing tasks, which is one of its strengths.
Pricing and Usage Limits
DeepSeek breaks down your written text into tokens and calculates cost per token. Its DeepSeek-R1 model (an advanced logic model) is ideal for tasks that require deep logical reasoning, coding, and research-based work.
Pricing Structure:
Input tokens:
Cache hit: $0.14 per 1 million tokens
Cache miss: $0.55 per 1 million tokens
Output tokens: $2.19 per 1 million tokens
Team plan: $18 per user/month
Individual plan: $20 per month
Compared to competitors like OpenAI, DeepSeek offers relatively affordable pricing, making it suitable for developers and businesses. Additionally, during off-peak hours (16:30–00:30 UTC), token prices drop by 75%, which is a major advantage for users.
3. Google’s Creation: Gemini
Launched in December 2023, Gemini represents a major leap forward in AI development, especially in the realm of large language models (LLMs). Introduced as the successor to Google’s earlier AI model, Bard, Gemini focuses on improving conversational interaction, problem-solving, and contextual understanding.
Understanding and Response Quality
Compared to other AI tools, Gemini is specifically designed to communicate with users in a natural, fluid tone — almost as if you're talking to a friend. While casual in style, its answers are generally clear and conversational. It also had no trouble understanding and responding in Mongolian, which made it easier to evaluate by asking the same question we used with the other models.

Gemini provided a comprehensive analysis of the issue from multiple angles and cited sources for each point. It went into detail about the environmental and health-related risks, explaining the potential harms clearly and thoroughly.

It also clearly and thoroughly explained its own stance on the issue.
Scope of Knowledge and Updates
When asked about today’s international news, Gemini’s response was quite similar to ChatGPT’s. It organized the information by topic, which suggests that it has access to a broad and well-structured knowledge base.

It also delivered the day’s current events without any issues, indicating that its live search capability is functioning properly.
Unique Features and Additional Capabilities
Since Gemini 2.0 Flash includes image generation capabilities, I requested it to generate an image of a modern Mongolian woman.

It understood my prompt without any issues and executed it accurately.
Pricing and Usage Limits
Google’s Gemini comes in two main versions: a free plan and the Gemini Advanced paid version. The free version is suitable for everyday basic use, while Gemini Advanced includes more sophisticated and in-depth capabilities. This plan costs £20 per month (approximately $25 USD) and is more deeply integrated with Google Workspace services like Gmail and Google Docs.
While Gemini Advanced offers advantages in areas like coding and Google service integration, for regular users, the $20 monthly fee may not feel entirely justified.
What is Claude AI?
Claude AI is an AI chatbot built on a large language model (LLM). It can handle a wide range of tasks such as generating text, writing code, creating creative content, and summarizing long documents. It also allows users to upload image and text files for more detailed responses.
Claude was introduced in March 2023 by Anthropic, a San Francisco–based company founded by former OpenAI employees. The company emphasizes AI safety and ethics as its core principles. Claude shares many capabilities with other AI tools, but with some key differences. For example: Claude does not use user data for training without consent. It only stores data for up to 90 days, It excels at processing long documents and handling file uploads. However, it cannot generate images or browse the internet.
Understanding and Response Quality
Although Claude supports multiple languages, it showed noticeable grammar issues and a limited vocabulary when responding in Mongolian.

It attempted to approach the issue from more than just two perspectives, which was commendable. However, like DeepSeek, it did not cite any sources.
Scope of Knowledge and Updates
When asked about today’s international news, Claude AI stated that it does not have access to real-time information after October 2024 — even though the response was generated on April 21, 2025. Therefore, it could not provide up-to-date, breaking news for that day. Instead, it recommended using external sources for the latest global updates.

Claude AI does not have real-time access to news, and its knowledge cutoff is October 2024. This makes it unsuitable for users seeking up-to-date international news. While it does a good job of directing users to reliable sources, it ultimately falls short for those who want to receive current information directly from the assistant.
Unique Features and Additional Capabilities
When asked to write a love poem, Claude delivered a piece filled with emotional depth and poetic language. Phrases like “eyes that shine like stars in the sky” and “like the blue sky after a spring rain” were particularly moving and vivid. It also used unique metaphors such as “like a stream flowing from a mountain peak” and “though not as free as the steppe wind,” which enriched the poem's emotional tone and imagery.

However, the structure and rhyme scheme of the poem were somewhat weak. It seems there’s room to improve its rhythm and classical poetic form to enhance the lyrical quality.
Pricing and Usage Limits
Claude AI is easy to use — accessible via web browser or mobile app. The free version gives access to the Claude 3.5 Sonnet model, while paying $20 per month unlocks all models, with faster responses and virtually no usage limitations.
In Conclusion…
📚 Based on four key evaluation areas and hands-on testing through tasks in Mongolian, ChatGPT came out on top due to its overall strength, accuracy, and better handling of the Mongolian language. DeepSeek provided detailed and cautious responses. The fact that it’s free and doesn’t store user data is a strong plus. Google Gemini felt a bit more expensive than others, but excels in professional use cases like coding and seamless integration with Workspace services. Claude AI, on the other hand, currently seems less developed across multiple areas.
🏆 And so, the clear winner is ChatGPT.
